Your Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan Thanksgiving HeadquartersGluten-free pie crusts have surged in popularity as more individuals embrace dietary restrictions or preferences that exclude gluten.

This trend isn’t just about catering to celiac disease or gluten intolerance; it’s also about exploring a broader spectrum of dietary choices influenced by health, lifestyle, and ethical considerations.

A gluten-free pie crust offers access to the delightful world of pies for those who would otherwise be excluded, allowing them to enjoy the flaky, buttery texture without the digestive distress or health risks associated with gluten.

Moreover, gluten-free diets have been linked to various health benefits, including improved digestive health, increased energy levels, and clearer skin for some individuals, making gluten-free options like pie crusts not just a necessity but a preferred choice for health-conscious consumers.

However, crafting a gluten-free pie crust that rivals its glutenous counterpart in texture, flavor, and workability is no small feat.

Gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley, provides elasticity and structure to dough, giving traditional pie crusts their characteristic flakiness and ability to hold shape.

Without gluten, bakers face significant challenges: the dough can be crumbly, difficult to roll out, and prone to shrinking during baking.

We’ve solved the problem of a gluten-free pie crust lacking the binding properties of gluten with our Tree Street Gluten-Free flour.

Have a great, gluten-free holiday season!
